In October last year, the LGR-3 was presented at the Motek fair as the first product of the new, modular axis- and gantry construction kit. The new generation combines the advantages of the previous product series KL and LP, but also offers a whole series of improvements.
The customer of the portal is Sterman Technische Systeme GmbH from St. Georgen-Peterzell, Germany. Sterman develops and manufactures clamping systems, devices and complete solutions in the field of mechanical engineering and is active in these areas for OEMs. Sterman is a new customer for FLT which first came into contact with FLT at Motek. From the fair contact a request arose, which was concretized at the end of the year at on-site appointments.
The order includes two linear gantry robots to automate transducer. They will handle the turbine wheel, cover and corresponding parts of the end customer. The gantries are placed laterally reversed and are designed for a total length of 4,000 mm and an X-stroke of a maximum of 3,000 mm.
Despite the very specific structure of the gantry for the company Sterman almost all components of the newly defined FLT standard could be used. The aspired optimizations in terms of standardization and modularization already paid off with the first gantry.
FLT is happy about the successful acquisition of new customers by the fair and the first sale of the new product and looks forward for further sales successes.
